A case of painful sex/ Dyspareunia & Menorrhagia
This a case of my existing patients, who had gotten married recently and developed menstrual disturbance ( 22-24 days cycle, USG showed Cysts in both ovaries) and dyspareunia or painful sex / intercourse.
This was a love marriage after several years of courtship, suddenly developing such an issue was odd here.
Since it was old case, and her constitutional remedy was Calc Carb, I prescribed the same . She visited after about a month , both her complaints were persistent. ( painful sex & early menses )
I gave Calc carb in a higher potency, but result was same.
By now 3 visits had been done with no positive response.
I kept asking her about any stress or what was in her mind.
Finally in August, she told me that a month before her wedding, she had gotten pregnant accidentally & got an MTP / aboration done. Since then this issue began.
She even said that she used to like looking at kids, but now she feel s she hates them or doesn’t want to look at them.
She hasn’t discussed it with any one, and even to me she told at a moment when my assistant Dr was out of the cabin for other work.
Its quiet evident what medicine was given. And the result was seen in next few weeks as mc became regular & dyspareunia gradually disappeared.
The guilty feeling of abortion causes this psychosomatic issue here.
IGNATIA
There are number of medicines for guilt & shame. But the reason for selection of IGNATIA was, the secretivess & hiding tendency. Ignatia & natrum have a tendency to hide emotions , and then their expression is sometimes contradictory or inappropriate. As we usually see contradictory things in Ignatia.
Besides these there are all sorts of causes leading to Ignatia states- like after grief , loss, shock, quarrels, deception , bad news.
Some other comparable remedies here are SEPIA, NATRUM, STAPHY, ACID PHOS etc. Any homeopathic remedy should be given ONLY by expert advice & after a PROPER DETAILED homeopathic consult .
