- Ignoring initial symptoms- like loss of appetite, nausea ( vomiting sensation ) , muscles pain , sudden weakness, diarrhoea, etc.
- Ignoring important late stage symptoms- change of color of toes/ fingers, increased breathing rate ( breath per minute, Increased pulse rate, reappearance of fever after 5-8 days of initial days , drowsiness , changes in behaviour ( confusion , disorientation etc )
- Taking too many medications & self medications , gives a false sense of well being or confuses your immune system.
- Relying on RTPCR- which is around 50 % accurate in detecting the newer strains and being in DENIAL .
- Delaying investigations or not doing investigations like HEMOGRAM, CRP, D DIMER, S FERRITIN and others that are suggested by doctors for diagnosis & prognostic purpose.
- Doing HRCT of chest ( CT SCAN ) too early like 1-3 days , which shows nothing, but disease spreads by 5-8 days . Doing SCAN without checking with your doctor, creates confusion , wastes resources, risk of radiation exposure. DO WHEN ITS ADVICED !
- NOT following up with the doctor regularly, hence missing change of medicines/ advice for investigations.
- NOT ISOLATING immediately, and exposing others in family or surrounding .
- Assuming one cannot have covid as “ I HAVENT STEPPED OUT OF HOUSE” !
The pandemic is something which no one ( doctors, government etc ) hasn’t dealt with, guidelines changes, treatment is intense if illness is severe, its a hard time for almost everyone around us. Alertness & being logical can prevent a lot of deaths & complications.
Take care! Stay safe!
