MEANING –
DOMINATION/ DOMINATING
the exercise of power or influence over someone or something, or the state of being so controlled.
SYNONYMS-
dictatorship. influence. oppression. repression. sovereignty. superiority. supremacy. tyranny.
A person who goes through such a repression or lives under such dictatorship of a parent/ spouse/ friend / family certainly goes develops some personality traits due to this environment . Depending on his own innate nature , combined with the effect of “ domination” a new personality is shaped which influences physical/ mental development & behaviours.
So its very important to give due importance to this rubric in our case totality, if such an influence existed/ exists.
In my practice I simply ask about the nature & relationship of the patient with close family members, also a direct mention of above-“ Did you feel that there was/is domination or bossing or too much influence/ interference of someone in your life choices?” and so on.
Major remedies in this rubric are the following-
- Carcionosinum – high standards & high expectation from parents/ family, perfectionists, sensitive to reprimands
- Sepia- Contradiction of will, made to do what he/she doesn’t want to, suppressed emotions, aversion to family, artistic & refined
- Staphysagria- mild, people pleaser, never gets angry ( a state ), cant oppose , over sensitive, aggressive & violent ( polarity state)
- Natrum Mur – People pleaser, conformer, falls in love with a wrong person
- SIlicea- Mild, cant stand up for herself, social anxiety, cant say no,conscientious, too refined
